The wooden meeples have such a nice weight in your hand compared to the flimsy cardboard tokens, and gathering resources actually feels satisfying now. Setup takes a bit longer since everything looks similar at a glance, but once it's on the table it's worth it.

Richard L. ★★★★★

Swapping out the cardboard chits for 94 wooden resources completely changed how the game feels on the table. The little trees and lake tokens are chunky enough to grab without fumbling, and setup goes faster now that everything has a real weight to it. Worth it if you play often.

Stella E. ★★★★★

I was skeptical about spending extra on upgrades, but the feel of those 94 wooden meeples and resources in hand is a total game-changer. Everything stacks nicely and the table presence is so much cleaner than the cardboard tokens. My group barely noticed the base game pieces were gone.
